COPENHAGEN, Denmark — July 24, 2026 — Omada A/S (“Omada”), a global leader of Identity Security and Governance, today announced that it has been selected by ElringKlinger, a globally positioned automotive supplier and pioneer in sustainable mobility solutions, to support the modernization of its Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities.
As an independent and globally active partner to the automotive industry, ElringKlinger develops innovative solutions for passenger cars and commercial vehicles across all drive systems, from electric motors and hybrid technology to optimized combustion engines. The company has long been at the forefront of e-mobility, advancing cutting-edge battery and fuel cell technologies along with critical components such as plastic housings and stamped and formed metal parts. Through customized lightweight concepts, ElringKlinger helps reduce vehicle weight, enabling extended range for electric vehicles and lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions for traditional powertrains.
In evaluating IAM solutions to support its evolving digital landscape, ElringKlinger selected Omada based on the team’s ability to deliver rapid progress, demonstrate early value, and align with the company’s long-term technology strategy.
During the evaluation of modern IAM solutions to support its growing digital ecosystem, ElringKlinger chose Omada as the platform proved compelling both strategically and technically. The company faced the challenge of establishing a modern, future-ready identity and access management framework capable of reliably supporting the increasing number of digital applications as well as its global business processes. A key focus was the sustainable modernization of the complex authorization structures surrounding the strategically critical SAP S/4HANA system.
In addition, ElringKlinger needed to replace its existing SAP Identity Management system, which will reach end of support by the end of 2027 and no longer meets the requirements of a scalable, flexible, and automation-driven IAM landscape. Omada demonstrated a strong understanding of the typical requirements and challenges faced by former SAP IDM customers and offers capabilities that effectively address these challenges — including flexible data modeling, modern workflow automation, integrated risk and role analytics, and strong alignment with SAP-centric processes.
Another key driver was the need to establish a global, cross-system role model to ensure a consistent and unified authorization structure across all connected systems. At the same time, a modern and intuitive employee self-service is to be implemented, enabling business users to request and track access independently and efficiently.
Furthermore, ElringKlinger aims to consistently automate security-relevant processes, particularly the regular review of critical access rights in line with the least privilege principle. This is expected to significantly reduce manual effort while sustainably increasing compliance and transparency.
A key element of the transformation is also the further development of the existing IAM landscape, which is currently heavily characterized by individual customizations and opportunities for further standardization, towards more standardized, maintainable, and scalable processes and best practices that enable more efficient future development and a more stable operation.
The current system landscape — consisting of S/4HANA, remaining ECC systems, and numerous integrated business applications — has resulted in increasing manual effort, more complex approval workflows, and varying levels of transparency regarding access risks.
With Omada, ElringKlinger aims to establish a modern identity governance platform designed to meet compliance and audit requirements while being closely aligned with SAP-centric processes. The solution is expected to enable centralized role and authorization management, improved visibility into access risks, and a higher level of automation across approval and provisioning workflows.
In doing so, ElringKlinger is laying the foundation for a future-ready, scalable IAM and SAP authorization model.
Jakob H. Kraglund, CEO, Omada, said: “From the very beginning, ElringKlinger demonstrated a strong sense of trust in our team. We reinforced that trust by moving faster than other vendors in the evaluation process and delivering tangible results early on. We’re excited to continue to build on our work with the ElringKlinger team.”
