Omada Identity Cloud: July 2025 Release

We’re thrilled to announce the July 2025 release of Omada Identity Cloud, packed with powerful new capabilities designed to simplify integration, strengthen governance, and enhance the user experience. The highlight of this release is the general availability of Omada’s Cloud Application Gateway (CAG), a significant leap forward that makes connecting your on-premises environments to Omada Identity Cloud easier as it removes the need to configure an IPSec VPN connection. Combined with improvements to access processes, identity analytics, and platform performance, this release is all about helping your organization operate faster, with less friction and more control. Let’s dive into these new features.

 

Introducing Cloud Application Gateway

Unlock seamless and secure integration with Omada’s new Cloud Application Gateway (CAG). This solution effortlessly connects Omada Identity Cloud with your on-premises and cloud-based applications, all without requiring complex firewall changes by using outbound-only connections over TLS 1.3. CAG supports all your standard platform operations, including import, provisioning, schema discovery, and connection testing, with all communications secured using asymmetric encryption. Deployable on Windows environments (with Linux container support coming soon), CAG also features automatic over-the-air (OTA) updates, significantly reducing your administrative burden.

Stay current with automatic over-the-air updates for your Cloud Application Gateway, while easily enabling connectivity packages via the Cloud Management Portal.

 

Streamlined Access Processes

We’ve made significant improvements to our access processes, giving you greater control and clarity. Our new, dedicated Access Rights page displays assignments for multiple identities, allowing you to easily revoke access for multiple users. Approvers can also now view extension details in approvals, quickly letting you distinguish between new access requests and extension requests for existing assignments. With this, the approval page now includes a “Request Type” column, clearly indicating the nature of the request. For extensions, the original “Valid to” date is also noted, providing full context at a glance. Finally, we’ve added enhanced details to the access request page so you won’t have to recall specifics of requests made earlier. New side panels provide rich, contextual information related to each request, ensuring you have everything you need right at your fingertips.

The approval page now has a “Request Type” column to see and filter whether you see initial or extension requests. The original valid to date is also noted in the history.

 

Omada Identity Analytics

Gain immediate, comprehensive insights into your identity landscape with our latest advancements in dashboard capabilities. Our new at-a-glance dashboards empower you to quickly grasp deep customer data trends, offering instant, visual reports on crucial areas like account ownership logs, resource assignments, and identity change logs—all without the need to generate full reports. Complementing this, we are also introducing powerful data quality dashboard enhancements featuring new widgets that pinpoint and analyze data quality issues, including reports on accounts/resources pending deprovisioning, recently used accounts, and accounts/resources lacking an owner. These innovations in identity analytics will aid you to accelerate your decision-making whilst ensuring the highest integrity of your identity data.

Survey Enhancement

Surveys are crucial for maintaining robust identity governance. They ensure access rights are regularly reviewed and certified, facilitate ownership reviews for applications and resources, certify role compositions for accuracy, and enable control policy evaluations to guarantee high data quality. To support these survey processes, we’re introducing a powerful new feature to streamline your identity governance, which is to assign defaults for unanswered survey questions. This enhancement allows survey administrators to set a default action, such as “remove,” for any unanswered questions when a survey closes. This ensures a least privilege model by automatically preventing unapproved assignments from extending beyond their valid timeframe, giving you greater control and security.

 

Enhanced User Experience

We’re continuously enhancing your experience with Omada. This release brings significant UI/UX Improvements to make your list views even more intuitive. You’ll now benefit from Flexible Access Approval Views, allowing you and your reviewers to group access approval requests by either identity or resource, giving you the flexibility to work how you want. By default, requests are grouped by identity for a quick and intuitive review.

The approval page is now grouped by identity by default, and the user can change to Resource grouping.

 

Connectivity Improvements

We’re rolling out significant connectivity enhancements to ensure your integrations are more flexible, secure, and robust than ever. Our AWS connectivity package update now supports the latest AWS APIs, enhancing security and reliability by transitioning from GET to POST requests for provisioning tasks. This prevents sensitive data from being exposed in URLs or server logs and ensures it is fully protected. It aligns connectors with API best practices, improving the reliability of your AWS integrations. Additionally, we’ve expanded our PostgreSQL in generic database provisioning capabilities. Previously limited to data import, the PostgreSQL generic connector now fully supports provisioning with create, update, and delete operations. This empowers you to automate complete identity lifecycle management across even more systems, leveraging a widely adopted and flexible database platform.

 

Javi – Your New IGA Assistant

Javi, Omada’s new IGA Assistant, is now onboarding ready for free tier. You can now seamlessly install Javi in Microsoft Teams to streamline access requests, effortlessly surface key documentation, and stay on top of approvals with convenient mobile-friendly alerts. The base tier is completely free for all customers, making it easier than ever to enhance your identity governance.
