FileShares

A file share is a collection of files, made available across the network by means of a protocol that enables actions on files, including opening, reading, writing, and deleting files across the network.

Functionality

The FileShares connector is utilizing the SSH protocol to connect to Windows file servers in order to:

  1. Create folders
  2. Create shares
  3. Assign AD security groups (read/write) permissions to the share

The FileShares connector is working in conjunction with the Microsoft Active Directory connector to create the required security groups and assign users access to those groups:

  1. Create security groups
  2. Manage group membership

It is best practice to manage the access to file shares via groups instead of assigning users direct access.
